Beauty Education App Theme




In 2019, Matie Natov was employed as a UX/UI web designer for a prominent beauty retailer. As part of her role, she was assigned a task of creating the theme for the company's new training application that would be used by employees to learn about new makeup products and brands. This project required Matie to carefully consider the needs and preferences of the target audience, ensuring that the design was user-friendly, visually appealing, and aligned with the brand's overall aesthetic.

Matie worked closely with various stakeholders, including the Education Department and IT Team, to gather requirements and feedback throughout the design process. Her attention to detail, makeup vision, and expertise in user experience and interface design were instrumental in the successful development and launch of the application.

Using the Razzmatazz UI Color


Since the company's new Learning Management System (LMS) incorporated the vibrant Razzmatazz color into It's app design, Matie saw an opportunity to create a cohesive and visually appealing user interface (UI) by using this color as the primary theme. In addition, the UI buttons and links were hard-coded with those colors and could not be easily changed. By maintaining consistency in color throughout the app, Matie was able to create a sense of unity and organization for users navigating the platform. This decision not only enhanced the overall aesthetic of the app but also made it easier for users to identify different sections and features. Additionally, the use of Razzmatazz color added a touch of excitement and energy to the app, making it more engaging and memorable for users.





Changing the Theme Based on User Feedback


Although Matie spent hours meticulously designing the first Razzmatazz theme, she knew that user feedback was crucial. She decided to interview 23 'power users', who were all makeup employees of the company and used the app on a daily basis. During the interviews, Matie asked specific questions to gauge the users' sentiment and gather their feedback on the design. She listened attentively as they shared their thoughts, suggestions, and concerns. It became clear that the users wanted a more branded experience that would better reflect the company's identity and values.


Upon hearing feedback from store employees, it became clear that the colors did not align with the company's branding. As a result, Matie made the decision to switch to a black and white theme, which better reflected the company's image and overall aesthetic. This change not only improved the app's visual appeal but also ensured consistency with the brand identity, ultimately leading to a more cohesive and professional look for the app.





In the end, Matie's creative talents and attention to detail resulted in a beautifully designed interior theme for the company's new LMS. Users were impressed by the visually stunning and user-friendly interface, which ultimately contributed to a more positive and engaging learning experience for employees. Matie's work was instrumental in helping the Education Department achieve their goal of implementing an optimal user experience for their new Learning Management System.





After launching the new education app, completion rates for training saw a significant increase, with more students successfully finishing their courses in a timely manner. This improvement in completion rates indicates that the app is engaging and user-friendly, making it easier for students to stay motivated and focused throughout their learning journey. Additionally, scores on the feedback survey also showed a noticeable improvement, suggesting that students are not only completing their training but also retaining and applying the knowledge they have gained. Overall, the success of the new education app is evident in the positive impact it has had on student outcomes and satisfaction levels.
