A new AI technology aiming to deliver unmatched speed and accuracy in its operations sought out Matie Natov to design it's new logo and brand identity. As it advanced into its second phase, the AI service required a cohesive and compelling brand identity.
The project scope:
Create a unique logo inspired by hawk imagery.
Research drawing hawk features to convey accuracy.
Develop an abstract hawk design using three shapes: triangle, rectangle, and circle.
Create hand-drawn sketches. (no templates)
The logo must embody the qualities of speed and accuracy.
The Challenge of Using 3 Shapes
The client provided a rough concept of the desired logo:

Matie found it somewhat challenging to research and depict hawk features using three basic geometric shapes. Hawks are renowned for their speed and precision, and their facial features are quite intricate, making it hard to capture their essence. To study their form, Matie watched several hawk documentaries, sketching ideas throughout the process. The most successful concept sketches were created:
Following numerous iterations of geometric logo sketches, the top three options surfaced. Matie proceeded to transform these leading designs into vector formats to present to the client:
After evaluating the initial set of logo designs, the client requested that the word 'AI' stand out more. Matie Natov revisited the designs to offer enhanced logo options that emphasized the keyword 'AI' more prominently.
Ultimately, Matie and the client agreed on a single concept and experimented with various color and lettering combinations:
The client was keen for 'AI' to be prominent, so the best solution was to capitalize those letters and keep the others in lowercase.
The client approved version 4 and Matie proceeded to prepare the logo design for production, offering it in various color combinations for marketing usage across surfaces.
Final Deliverables:
- Presentation of at least three logo concepts for client to review.
- Delivery of a final logo design in vector file formats (e.g., AI, EPS, PNG, and SVG).
- Virtual mockup showcasing the proposed design in a trade show booth.
